It Lo is a collaboration between it foot, it ears (Jason Rabb + Nick Foster) and Logan Hone. These songs were written during a 5 day residency in Torrey, UT which was followed by 2 shows and a recording session in Los Angeles (Aug 13-20, 2017).

"When I listen to IT LO I’m struck by the fact that these songs exist just the way they do, in just this proportion and with just these qualities. These songs rock and perplex. They fit together in surprising and deliberate ways. They might not have. They might have been radically or subtly different.

The trio might not have written the songs in five days in Jason’s parents’ empty house in Torrey, Utah. Logan might not have cut his finger bad with a breadknife halfway through the week. They might not have noticed that the neighbors were polygamists. They might not have left the door open to rehearse and the door closed to record. They might not have recorded the songs at all (they almost didn’t). The process of collaboration, with its attendant and essential compromises, is subject to innumerable material contingencies. When I listen to IT LO, these alternatives, the albums that didn’t come into being, feel oddly close, oddly at hand.

The album that does exist is not an obvious combination of (or alternation between) Logan’s, Nick’s, and Jason’s aesthetics. It is not a clear point at the confluence of three individual practices. It was not a guaranteed, preconfigured, or inevitable outcome of this collaboration. But this album, this set of non-genred, addictive jams, is essential to IT LO. This band, and this album, exists just as it does and just as it can. It is a remarkable example of the nature of collaboration. Of compromise and inspiration. " –Jesse Q-T
